Answer: Lady Gaga revealed she is hooked on a hummus diet.

Hummus with everything! - check out my recipe at the end of this blog.

Hummus spread on oatcakes, as a dip with carrot batons, baked potato filling, delicious with sweet potato it goes with everything it tastes delicious and it’s so good for you. Win win! Hummus is packed with vitamins and minerals, it is a great source of protein (chickpeas) and healthy fats (olive oil) especially if you make your own using a good quality extra virgin olive oil and plenty of fresh garlic, delicious! If organic chickpeas are available, great, however if you are using standard tinned chickpeas don’t forget to rinse them thoroughly to help reduce pesticide residues.

Healthy fats such as olive oil provide essential nutrients. They are energy dense and together with protein they help keep us feeling fuller for longer so don’t dodge the fat ladies. Healthy fats in our diet provide energy and they help us to absorb those essential fat soluble vitamins A, E, K and D. Everything in moderation.

My favourite is hummus with extra garlic, black pepper and organic turmeric. Turmeric is a perennial plant from the ginger family that originates in India. It is traditionally called ‘Indian saffron’ and is widely used in herbal remedies for its nutrient dense properties.
